He nodded, taking another bite out of his slab of meat. It wasn’t the traditional meat back home but was still good. He probably looked hungry.
Clove nods, taking a small bite of her meat and chewing it slowly. She looks around, a bit on edge. She didn’t know who or what could pop out. A lot had been happening recently.
“I guess I could have some more” he shrugged, reaching out and taking another. Truthfully he could have had two times as much of what he’d already eaten.
Clove nods, taking a bite of hers. “We have a lot to eat, and no way to save it before it goes bad…So eat a bunch alright? I know you are still hungry.”
Clove looked over as Cato finished up the last of his piece of meat. She raises a brow, “Should I put another piece on for you?”
He looked up at her, than back down at the bone. “Nah” he shook his head, he wouldn’t want to it more than he should.
“You sure?” Clove raises a brow at him, licking her lips a bit. “That wasn’t a lot of food and obviously we have plenty of it.”
Clove took a bite of the meat, chewing it a bit as her eyes watch the outter rim of the clearing they were in. She didn’t want anymore suprises or unwanted visitors tonight.
Cato simply devoured the meat, almost inhaling it. He held the bone, in his hand, reaching over and taking the knife he’d had before. He slowly started to sharpen the one end of the bone.
Clove looked over as Cato finished up the last of his piece of meat. She raises a brow, “Should I put another piece on for you?”
Cato takes the meat silently, no longer speaking. He only nodded, knowing it was the best answer either of them could’ve come up with at the moment. He took his first bit into his meat.
Clove took a bite of the meat, chewing it a bit as her eyes watch the outter rim of the clearing they were in. She didn’t want anymore suprises or unwanted visitors tonight.
“Do you know where that leads?” he questioned her further and watched her take the meat from the fire. He was wondering if they were gonna keep hitting more woods or a district.
“No clue.” Clove shrugs, handing him some meat to eat. It was cooked at good as she could get it, but enough where it wasn’t gross over uncooked. “I don’t know where at of these paths go. I guess we are just going to have to see.”
“Where are we headed in the morning?” he questioned, finally tired of the silence between them.
She shrugs, starting to take the meat from the fire. Clove points in a random direction, “That way.”
He nodded, losing a bit of his insecurity. It wouldn’t matter if they got attacked, cause she could defend herself perfectly while he was likely dead if there was another attack.
Clove wasn’t worried about the animals. She would finish them off, defend herself him with no problem. She could take care of everyone if she needed too.
“Isn’t that smell gonna attract something?” he questioned, smelling the cooked meat. It smelled so good, the first thing he’s eaten sense he left home.
“I wouldn’t be surprised. But we’ve gotta eat, otherwise we’ll die before anything could even get to us.” She shrugs a bit, poking the meat with a stick. “It’s almost ready.”
